This site is the final result of almost two months of part-time work, retrieving files, putting ideas together and researching the field of online portfolios. Lots of inputs, ideas and hints about this project. Here are some guidelines I've put together for any portfolio design: 1. the site should reflect the style of the designer, 2. it should be informative, 3. a portfolio is not a gallery, 4. a project page should mention the tools, the employer or the team, the year in which it's been developed, 5. serious designers should include wireframes, colour charts, site maps along the final screenshots.
In fact, I've seen many designers whose portfolios look artistic: big fonts, big ego, big social media icons. Yet, most lack any background information related to the creative process behind each project. To me, design is no fancy art. A designer tries to make sense and culture in each project.
For this web site, I've chosen Joomla! 2.5 as a platform. An obvious choice for me, because I've had so much training during my past experiences. The template is built on the Gantry framework and works nicely in most modern browsers and on iOS devices as well.
